And they’re always called “Tripod”

I love three-legged animals. I do. They make me grin like a big idiot. Every time I see a cat or dog hobbling around on three legs I just squirm with excitement. They’re so cute and happy. It’s a similar reaction whenever I see a cross-eyed cat, but I digress.

Meat, the store where we purchase our organic raw meat foods for our quacking freak of love, had a flier up for awhile of a three-legged boxer who needed a home. My heart ached and I suppressed giggles when I saw him there (yes, both at the same time.) I wanted to take him home. But I couldn’t. Someday, though. Someday I will have a place that accepts dogs, or my own home with a great, big back yard and I’ll be able to adopt a three-legged creature and I’ll adore him/her.

Am I alone here? Aren’t they just the most uplifting thing you’ve ever seen? Don’t you just freakin’ love three-legged animals? Don’t they give you an extra boost of happiness? They lost a leg they usually need for running around, but there they are, learning how to use three instead, and just as fucking happy with everything as they were before. There’s some life inspiration for you (or me.)

  1. although i can’t share in your joy and excitement of seeing these tripods, i can relate to the making-do with what you have attitude as i am not practically one-legged. fo’ reals. i have a slipped disk in my back that is pinching a nerve that goes down my left leg and it’s very painful. i had a month when i was getting better and now it’s getting bad again. but my attitude has been to keep on keeping on and cut back on the running for buses and wizzing around the office. when i can’t take it anymore, i just stop and ask for help. at the moment, the husband is making me dinner!

i too wish i could have a pup but my urban lifestyle won’t allow for it. sometime i miss olympia and the woods…perfect for my dream golden retriever.

hope all is well with you, miss!

xx from a sunny & warm london.
