Have you given up your rocketship for planning for NYC. I hope not. I think your journey to the big lights of nyc will yield an interesting tail to those of us who would never dare take that leap.I especially find your outlook interesting and the way you describe life. And if we head to the coast for a family outing I would like to play scrabble with you one last time, for I am sure once you hold a masters, you will finally win.

I’m no longer interested in Rocketship underpants. But, I do enjoy your writing. Very clear and honest. Regardless Scrabble has an element of chance, I rarely win at it myself — I’ve noted over time however, the winners at Scrabble usually are not writers. Isn’t that great news!

The word is out you’re headed for Columbia, the
university, not the country. Great destination.
Like a gull squawking after a boat that knows where it’s port is, I wish you well. Reading Oliver Sacks, and The Russians is worthwhile. Add Alice Munro to your list (if she’s not already on it — one of the most generous short story writers on the planet,) and keep Vonnegut by your bedside in case of lifestyle-threatening emergencies. They are writers for all times.

Came across your blog while actually searching for rocketship underpants. You don’t happen to know where I could get some by any chance?

If not, oh well. No big deal. Reading some of your entries though was highly amusing, and insightful. I liked them a lot. My favorite being “The funny thing about being twelve…” as it reminded me a lot of my girlfriend. She’s 21…hardly acts her age. What’s not to love? :)
